How NextReset Predicts Codex Resets
What NextReset Tracks
NextReset is an independent tracker of public evidence about possible global Codex usage-limit resets. It separates a rule-based verified status from an experimental advance forecast, because a forecast is not an OpenAI statement and should not be treated as a personal account result.
Public Sources
The site monitors the configured public sources and retains the source link for records shown in reset history. Public X posts can be collected through the operator’s logged-in Chrome session or public feeds. NextReset cannot access your personal Codex usage. Original-source links remain on the history page so readers can review the public context.
Primary, Secondary, and Benchmark Evidence
Primary Evidence is an openable official statement that can establish an Event fact. Secondary Evidence includes community reports and may support only a Possible signal; it cannot confirm a reset. Benchmark-only material is used to compare products or methods and never changes Radar. Evidence Tier is recorded separately from lifecycle and verification.
Confirmed, Announced and Possible Signals
Confirmed means the fixed classification rules found evidence of a completed global reset. Announced means a public statement points to a future reset. Possible is weaker context that may be relevant but is not confirmation. Codex update labels identify monitored product context without claiming a reset.
Event Lifecycle and Verification
An Event may be announced, scheduled, rolling out, confirmed, cancelled, expired without confirmation, or corrected. These states follow explicit transitions rather than a numeric rank. Verification separately records primary-verified, unverified, or retracted. Only valid Primary Evidence explicitly stating that a reset is effective or rolling out can confirm it.
Corrections and Retractions
A correction keeps the stable Event identity, increments its revision, and records the corrected facts. A retraction is also revisioned but marks verification as retracted so the withdrawn evidence cannot remain valid Primary Evidence. Cancellation, correction, retraction, and unconfirmed expiry remain different facts.
How Global Radar Is Derived
Global Radar is deterministically derived from current automatic/global Events, Possible signals, evidence, Source Health, and freshness; it is not a writable forecast score. A confirmed historical Event remains in history after its 24-hour homepage emphasis ends. Banked Events are derived and displayed separately and cannot change the Global headline or badge.
How Advance Forecasts Are Produced
New Tibo posts undergo semantic review with earlier context and historical confirmations. Explicit future announcements and strong hints are labelled separately, with original text, publication time, reasons and uncertainty. Today, Tomorrow and Day after use Beijing dates only when source timing supports them. Unzoned windows retain their original wording. Completed events are not upcoming forecasts.
What the Evidence Labels Mean
Announced, Strong hint and Insufficient evidence describe evidence quality, not calibrated occurrence probabilities. NextReset does not display invented percentages. Historical similarities help explain an inference but cannot guarantee another reset. Monitoring gaps and missing confirmation are not proof that a prediction was right or wrong.
Global Resets vs Personal Account Timers
A global reset signal is different from the personal 5-hour or weekly usage windows shown in an individual Codex account. Usage limits vary by plan and account context. Check Codex Settings or the limit banner for your actual account state rather than using this site as a personal timer.
Community and Account-Truth Limitations
Community reports can reveal context but cannot confirm a Global Event or prove what happened on another account. A public Banked announcement cannot establish your eligibility, availability, or expiration. Screenshots and public signals do not replace the Settings → Usage state shown on the individual account.
Source Health and Stale Data
Healthy means every monitored critical source is healthy. Degraded means a critical source partially failed, or all critical sources failed once. Unavailable starts after two consecutive checks in which all critical sources failed, so the site does not show a normal no-reset conclusion or forecast. A successful check with no new post resets that failure streak. Stale means the last successful check is more than 3.5 hours old, so current conclusions are withheld. Monitoring and forecast generation run separately, so their timestamps can differ by a few minutes.
Corrections and Limitations
NextReset is not affiliated with OpenAI. Public posts can be incomplete, ambiguous, corrected, or removed, and a forecast can be wrong. Report a correction or source issue at corrections@nextreset.org. Email subscribers receive qualifying advance announcements and can opt into strong hints. Inference emails include originals, times, links, reasons and uncertainty. Scope-unknown hints are clearly labelled and offered with Global inference alerts.
Forecast record
NextReset is collecting immutable pre-event snapshots. Accuracy metrics will be published only after enough confirmed events are available.
